Mustang Chassis Dynamometer

Chassis dyno in Fort Wayne IndianaExotic Performance Plus is proud to offer the most accurate tool for performance, timing and diagnostics – the MD-1750 Chassis Dynamometer by Mustang.

Our in-house MD-1750 is one of Northeast Indiana’s few lab-quality chassis dynos available commercially for high-performance vehicle testing and development. The MD-1750 opens up a world of opportunities to anyone interested in:

  • adjusting and tuning a vehicle to its unique potential
  • modifying or upgrading the powertrain with proof of “before and after” performance
  • measuring torque and horsepower at the wheels
  • identifying areas of power loss in a vehicle
  • testing different engine components
  • charting and graphing vehicle horsepower and performanceMustang’s MD-7000

Data for each dyno pull is captured by Mustang’s MD-7000 software package. Featuring exclusive Virtual Inertia™ Technology, MD-7000 control software enables advanced high performance shops to simulate the scientific laws of mass and motion without leaving the safe confines of the shop environment. Mustang has engineered its software program to recognize the inertial and aerodynamic characteristics of late model vehicles, thus supplanting the need to mimic drive cycles at the track or on the highway.

With programs for diagnosis, performance, and timing, the MD-7000 software offers a level of user interface utility that simply cannot be found anywhere else.

MD-1750With a 50” diameter roll set, a maximum speed of 225 mph, and a horsepower measurement rating of 1,750 hp, the MD-1750 is by far the fastest and most powerful dynamometer available in its class. Mustang’s eddy current power absorption feature allows for “steady state” testing at various speed and torque outputs, making the MD-1750 a dynamometer in the truest sense.

Eddy current power absorption enables the system to test vehicles at variable throttle-positions, speeds, and torque outputs. The torque value read from the load cell is combined with roll-speed picked up magnetically at the roll shaft to calculate the exact force being applied at the vehicle’s wheels at any time throughout the test sequence. Unlike friction-type load control “devices” offered by competing manufacturers, our eddy current absorbers and advanced closed-loop computer control system enable the user to carefully control the road load applied to the vehicle under test by increments of horsepower or torque.
