Justin Roberts '00 Honda Civic DX w/ATI ProCharger
This update from:
08/22/2004
Justin Roberts purchased an NOS kit for his Honda Civic DX 1.6 litre SOHC from us, which is what started his road to horsepower heaven! Next came a Carbon Fiber APC hood, and an adjustable coilover front and rear suspension with Koni adjustable shocks, then the ATI ProCharger C-2 Honda supercharger kit was the next item!
Our man on this project, Shane Baker, painted all the plumbing for the intercooler white, which really looks great on the Honda.
Here is a good picture of the K&N air filter assembly that ATI ProCharger sends with the complete Honda kit.
The ATI ProCharger kit is designed for the Honda DOHC engine, but we retrofitted it to fit the SOHC engine by fabricating a new bracket.
Justin had already added a header and an intake manifold to the engine prior to bringing the car to us.
Here is a good picture of the completed plumbing on the driver side of the car. Shane did an excellent job with this installation.
ATI ProCharger supplies these kits with really nice air to air intercoolers.
Here is a good picture of Shane Baker, the man who spearheaded this project.
We installed an SCI MSD ignition box that we made a custom bracket for.
Shane thought this valve cover would look great painted white, which came out looking excellent.
The white valvecover really sets this engine off.
Shane made the bumper removable on this Honda, so that Justin can remove the bumper for car shows. Shane can now remove the bumper in one minute flat!
We added one step colder NGK spark plugs, and MSD plug wires to this engine.
We also added 315cc Accel fuel injectors to this engine.
This engine compartment really looks clean!
Shane added a spray bar to cool the intercooler with nitrous.
The hose routing to the intercooler can be seen here. You can also see how the fogger works on the intercooler. That mist in the picture is not a shadow, that is nitrous being sprayed!
Almost done, this car looks really great!
We ordered a new gauge pod that added two gauges for this car and painted it white to match the other white accents. We then filled the openings with an AutoMeter NOS and an Boost gauge.
We then added white faces gauges to compliment the look.
Here the supercharged Honda can be seen getting tied down to the chassis dyno for tuning. And tuning we did, as we saw 191 rwhp with the intercooler being cooled with the nitrous spray bar! That would be 225 to 240rwhp on a DynoJet dyno, and is hitting close to 300hp at the engine!
Damn, Shane got his new shirt dirty!
Heres the view most people will see of this Honda!
There's Justin and his friends along with my son Tony, who is wearing the Summit shirt.
Here is Shane giving Justin his first ride in his Honda since we installed the supercharger.
This is a good looking Honda that is going to draw a lot of attention.
The man himself, Justin Roberts. Esctatic with the added power of his machine.
