Jerry Lockman and his '96 LT4 with an ATI ProCharger
This update from:
01/02/2006
Jerry and Debra Lockman are from Indianapolis, and have a great looking 1996 LT4 Corvette that my wife and I first saw and drooled over at the Super Chevy Show this summer. This is a very clean low mileage Corvette that appears to be in almost showroom new condition! Jerry and Debra called us inquiring about installing an ATI ProCharger onto their Corvette, and having done one on another 1996 Corvette several years ago, I was well aware of the power potential that this car is capable of producing.
The picture above shows some of the ATI ProCharger pieces laid out on one of our tables. ATI does an excellent job of packaging each step of the assembly in seperate bags that are clearly identified. It is a good thing, as the LT1 and LT4 Corvette ATI ProChargers are the hardest and most time consuming ones we have installed. Rushing things is not part of this job, and we pride ourselves in being very picky about how the finished product looks.
The Lockman's new ATI ProCharger serial number can clearly be seen in the above photograph.
Here is Brent Malone doing one of the things he does best, working on making fast cars even faster.
Here are several pictures of the polished supercharger that will be powering the extra horsepower that this Corvette will be making.
The polished intercooler to throttle body induction is one sharp looking unit!
Yes, things are tight, but the final result will be worth it.
Now we are just waiting on LT1(4) edit to arrive so that we can tune this car. According to the Fed Ex tracking site, the software should be arriving today, August 12th!!!
Update!! The software is here, and the Corvette is on the dyno!
After some computer glitches were dealt with, we finally got this awesome looking LT4 Corvette tuned in. We were surprised to see 413 hp at the rear wheel on our Mustang Chassis Dyno! This Corvette would be close to 450rwhp on a Dynojet type of dyno, making this engine putting out around 500hp! This car is going to fly! My brother's '95 Formula LT1 with an ATI ProCharger makes 350 rwhp on our http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com/projectCar.php?car=7
chassis dyno, and runs 11.50 in the 1/4 mile. This tells us that this Corvette is going to be a hand full...
